Kalico Fabric Class Policies

Thank you for taking the time to read our class policies, which are written to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of all workshop participants. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Our Studio

Our sewing studio is located in a private home in beautiful Ojai, California, just 15 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Ventura. The sewing studio is equipped with brand new sewing machines, a serger, irons, cutting areas, fabric and notions. Use of our equipment is included in the price of your workshop, series, or sew time.

If you wish to bring your own machine, that is fine. Your machine should be in good working condition to insure you have a good time in your sewing class. Remember to bring the manual, the foot pedal, and extra bobbins. If you don’t know how to use your machine, please schedule a Sewing Machine 101 before taking other workshops.

Workshop Material Fees

Some workshops have a small materials fee, payable at the time of your reservation. This covers the cost of notebooks, handouts, notions, etc. Any material fees are listed in the description of each workshop.

Please read the list of supplies you will need to bring in the description of the workshop. If you forget to bring something, you may purchase what you need at the sewing studio on the day of your class. We've got great fabric selections suitable for all our sewing projects.

Our equipment is new, and we know wear and tear will occur. However, damaged, broken or lost parts (sewing needles, feet, bobbin, bobbin case, etc.) need to be paid for by the class participant if not returned undamaged at the end of each sewing workshop.

During Your Class

Please! We love children and babies, but do not bring them to the studio during your scheduled time. Please respect your fellow participants – time is short, and we want everyone to be able to concentrate and have fun – no distractions!

All workshops begin promptly at the stated start time. Because most sessions are short (just 2 or 3 hours), we want to make sure everyone gets to start immediately.

If you must Cancel your Workshop

We won’t ask why you need to cancel, we know that stuff happens, or you’re just not in the mood. Please notify us by phone (805-889-2910) as soon as possible to discuss your options:

If it is at least Five (5) days prior to beginning of workshop: You can receive a full refund, minus a $10 processing fee. OR

You may also apply your pre-paid attendance to another workshop or series, with a $10 fee for processing each time you request a transfer. OR

You may transfer your reservation to a friend, with a $10 fee for processing.

If it is Four (4) days or less prior to beginning of workshop:

No refund will be issued, but you may transfer your pre-paid attendance to another workshop or series, with a $10 processing fee for each transfer request.

Missed Day in a Series

If you miss a day in a series (a workshop of more than 1 day), please contact us immediately. Arrangements can be made to make up the missed information prior to the beginning of the next day in your series. No refund will be issued for a missed day in a series.

If We Must Cancel a Workshop

If we need to cancel a workshop, you will receive a full refund, or you may transfer your pre-paid fee to another workshop. There are no fees to transfer if we have canceled the workshop.

We reserve the right to change the schedule (date, time, price, etc.,) if there are no paid participants one week prior to the class as previously advertised.
