Free Sewing ProjectsHere are some free sewing projects for things you can make, even if you're a beginner at sewing. Kalico Fabric wants to inspire your creativity and help you build your sewing skills, so we spend a lot of time looking and designing great beginner projects.We will have holiday items, home décor, simple gifts, pillows, and baby accessories that just might give you more sewing ideas.
The directions are written with the beginner in mind – so as long as you have a few basic sewing skills, you should be successful. Our focus here is on simple projects, so you’ll be successful and want to create more. Many beginners feel so confident after they’ve made one skirt, that they sew several more. We’ve seen lots of skirt projects from this one project that include sewing a shorter skirt, making one with solid colored fabric, and adding a panel of different fabric at the botton. You can also add trims, patch pockets, and wavy borders. How about trying out different fabrics – such as rayon, lightweight knits, or a bamboo/cotton blend?
